Sayville Artwalk May 21, 2010 6-9pm

The Sayville ArtWalk is a free self guided art show where each artist exhibits for one night within a local business. Save the dates! Many artists and sites change at 6/18, 7/16, & 8/27 ArtWalks, so come to them all. Start the tour anywhere and pick up an ArtWalk walking map at any site (look for the balloons outside sites). Enjoy complimentary refreshements at many locations, meet merchants & artists, and enjoy art in many mediums.

The Sayville Farmer's Market reopens this Saturday 5/22. Running every Saturday (weather permitting) 8:30am - 3:00pm (NEW HOURS) next to Cornucopia on Main St. Fresh produce, cut flowers, local seafood, a Long Island winery, honey, breads, artisanal cheeses, jellies, preserves, spreads and much more - all by local producers and growers!


8th Annual Kristen's Walk to the Water* Sat. May 22nd starts 8:30am Kristen Leigh Kessler, a much loved local 18 year old, lost her battle with leukemia in 1993. Her love for dolphins and the ocean has been recognized through an annual three mile Sayville walk down to the water and back. All are welcome to walk this fundraiser benefitting ill children and leukemia research. Visit Kristen's Walk website for sponsor sheets.


Nautical Festival* Sat/Sun May 22nd & 23rd - 10am-6pm LI Maritime Museum grounds in West Sayville. Regattas, exhibits by local maritime attractions, live music, seafood, crafts, & more! Pirates will be doing games and a treasure hunt with the children. Kid crafts, marine biodiversity dock scraping session, & more. $5 adults & kids, under 5 are free. Annual Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 31st starts at 9am at the corner of Handsome Avenue and Main Street in Sayville. (Main St. will close to traffic at 8:30am) Parade proceeds east to the memorial statue at Sparrow Park (at the South Main Street fork). Bring your folding chairs and some patriotic spirit!
